Greenlandic devouring Sphinx/ Larch Sphinx

This species of sphinx lives in the forests of Greenland and tend to have demographic explosions reaching to raze whole trees. The larvae born in the beginning of the spring, they feed on Piceas and Larches. In the final of the summer the larvae get into cocoons and become adults. Then adults mate and lay eggs in colonies made ​​of silk that keep them isolated during winter. Finally they die.
